These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website, Progressive Web App, and services operated by Transparent Rentals (“we,” “us,” “our”) in Accra, Ghana. By booking a ride or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Our service
We provide chauffeur-driven car hire in the Greater Accra Region and Ghana-wide long-distance transport on request. Every booking includes a professional driver, fuel up to the kilometres stated in your booking type, onboard WiFi, and bottled water. Self-drive rental is not offered.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a booking. By booking, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
3. Bookings and confirmation
- A booking is a request until we confirm availability. Confirmation is sent by email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
- We may decline a booking for operational, safety, or verification reasons. In that case, any payment taken will be refunded in full.
- Pickup times are treated as the time your driver arrives at the stated pickup point. Please allow a fifteen (15) minute window on either side for traffic and routing conditions.
- For airport pickups, the driver will track your flight. If your flight is delayed, no additional charge applies. If you miss your flight or reschedule, contact us immediately and we will do our best to adjust the booking; any rescheduling is subject to driver availability and the non-refundable policy in section 5.
4. Pricing and payment
- All advertised prices are in US Dollars (USD) and include the driver, vehicle, 100 km of fuel per day for full-day rentals, WiFi, and bottled water. Taxes are included where applicable.
- Airport transfers from $50 are flat-rate and cover a single trip between Accra International Airport and a destination within Accra.
- Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. Mobile Money (MoMo) is accepted manually on request.
- Additional charges may apply for: travel beyond 100 km in a single day at a per-kilometre rate advised before the trip, waiting time beyond one (1) hour, out-of-region trips, late-night drop-offs after 10:00 PM, and exceptional cleaning.
- Any variation to the booking requested on the day is subject to driver availability and may change the final price.
5. Cancellations and refunds
All bookings are final. Customer cancellations, changes, reschedules, and no-shows are not refundable, regardless of how far in advance they are made. We strongly recommend you confirm your travel plans before booking.
The only exception: if we cancel or are unable to perform your booking for any reason within our control, you will receive a full refund to the original payment method, or the option to rebook at no additional cost. Refunds in this case are processed within ten (10) business days.
Delays, missed pickups, or rescheduling caused by your own circumstances — including missed flights, traffic on your side, last-minute plan changes, or inability to reach the pickup location — do not qualify for a refund.
6. Conduct and safety
You and your passengers agree to:
- Treat our drivers and vehicles with respect.
- Wear seatbelts at all times. Small children require an appropriate child seat; please request one at booking.
- Not consume alcohol or smoke inside the vehicle. Violations incur a cleaning fee and may result in the trip being ended.
- Not transport illegal goods, firearms, or hazardous materials. Drivers may refuse or terminate any trip that appears unsafe or unlawful. No refund is due in these cases.
- Not distract, harass, or threaten the driver. Our drivers may end the trip in the interests of their safety.
7. Luggage and personal items
Reasonable luggage for your party is included. Excess or oversized items may require an additional vehicle and charge. We are not responsible for personal items left in the vehicle; contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to return them.
8. Liability
- Our vehicles are insured as required by Ghanaian law. Passengers are covered by the vehicle’s insurance in accordance with the policy terms.
- We are not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including traffic, road closures, weather, strikes, civil unrest, flight delays, or government action.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking, except where a higher limit is required by law.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Driver and vehicle
We assign a vehicle and driver suitable for your booking type. The exact vehicle may change for operational reasons; any replacement will be of equivalent standard. You may not direct the driver to perform unsafe or unlawful acts.
10. Intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and code — is owned by Transparent Rentals or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute it without our written permission.
11. Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana. Where consumer protection law in your country of residence grants you stronger rights, those rights are not affected.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated “last updated” date. The version in force when you book is the version that applies to that booking.
